Refreshing Lilac Lemonade

A floral infusion of lilac blossoms and fresh lemons, creating a unique and refreshing spring beverage.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh lilac blossoms, loosely packed (pesticide-free and edible)
  • 4 cups (1 liter) hot water for steeping
  • 3 cups (720 ml) cold water for dilution
  • 1 cup (240 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 68 lemons)
  • ½ cup (120 ml) honey (or vegan substitute)
  • Ice cubes as needed for serving
  • Additional edible flowers for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gently rinse the lilac blossoms under cold water.
  2. Place bloody blossoms in a heatproof bowl or pitcher and pour hot water over them. Let steep for 10 minutes.
  3. Strain the infusion into a clean pitcher, pressing lightly on the flowers.
  4. While the infusion is warm, stir in honey until dissolved.
  5. Add fresh lemon juice to the sweetened infusion and stir well.
  6. Dilute with cold water to taste.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill.
  8. Serve over ice, garnished with additional edible flowers.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh; can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Adjust sweetness during preparation.
