A comforting, layered lasagna filled with rich marinara, seasoned meat, and creamy cheeses, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Lasagna noodles
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Ground beef or Italian sausage
  • Marinara sauce
  • Eggs
  • Garlic
  • Onion
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Italian seasoning
  • Fresh basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened.
  4. Add ground beef or sausage to the skillet, cooking until browned.
  5. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, eggs, salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Spread a layer of the meat sauce in a baking dish, followed by a layer of lasagna noodles.
  8. Add a layer of the ricotta mixture and a sprinkling of mozzarella cheese; repeat layers.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  10. Let the lasagna cool slightly before serving and garnish with fresh basil if desired.
