A nostalgic dessert featuring layers of creamy banana pudding, ripe bananas, and crunchy vanilla wafers.

Ingredients

  • 1 box of vanilla wafer cookies
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 egg yolks

Instructions

  1. Combine the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat, whisking constantly until thickened.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and egg yolks.
  3. Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture gently.
  5. Layer the vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding mixture in a serving dish.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for the sweetest flavor. You can add coconut cream as a dairy-free option.
