Tender chicken meatballs infused with garlic and Italian herbs, baked and served in marinara sauce with gooey mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and browned.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, heat a skillet over medium heat and pour in the marinara sauce. Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the meatballs and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
  7. Serve the meatballs warm, with crusty bread or over pasta.

Notes

Don’t overmix the meatball mixture to prevent toughness. These meatballs can be made with turkey or beef as alternatives.
