A delightful chocolate cake topped with gooey marshmallows and chocolate chips, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter and mix in the sugar until smooth and well combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, incorporating each fully before the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients.
  5. Fold in the walnuts or pecans if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, checking for a set middle and crust.
  8. Remove from oven and sprinkle mini marshmallows and chocolate chips on top. Return to oven for 5-10 minutes until melted.
  9. Cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

For added richness, replace half of the butter with melted chocolate. Can use other flavors of chocolate chips or add dried fruit.
