A delightful breakfast casserole featuring buttery croissants, savory smoked ham, and gooey Swiss cheese, perfect for lazy Sunday mornings.

Ingredients

  • 6 buttery croissants, torn into pieces
  • 1 cup smoked ham, diced
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Powdered sugar (for serving)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer the torn croissant pieces in the bottom of the greased baking dish.
  3. Spread the diced ham evenly over the croissants.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded Swiss cheese on top.
  5. Whisk together the eggs, milk, mustard powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the croissant, ham, and cheese layers.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, removing the foil for the last 10 minutes.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes, then serve dusted with powdered sugar and maple syrup on the side.

Notes

For extra flavor, add sautéed spinach, caramelized onions, or use different types of cheese.
