Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken thigh fillets
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Pickles for serving
  • White bread for serving

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken thighs in a mixture of buttermilk and hot sauce for at least 1 hour.
  2. Prepare the spice coating by mixing flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Coat each marinated chicken thigh thoroughly in the flour mixture.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the coated chicken thighs until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes each side.
  6. Drain the cooked chicken on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  7. Serve the hot chicken on slices of white bread and top with pickles.

Notes

For extra spice, adjust the amount of cayenne pepper in the flour mixture. Use a thermometer to ensure the oil is at the right temperature before frying.
