A vibrant and nourishing dish that captures the flavors of a traditional burger in a healthy bowl format.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup avocado mayo
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon pickle juice
  • 4 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1/2 cup sliced cherry tomatoes
  • 1/3 cup sliced red onion
  • 1/3 cup sliced pickles
  • 1/3 cup cooked, chopped bacon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Turkey Mixture by combining the ground turkey, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl.
  2. Cook the Turkey by heating a skillet over medium heat, forming the turkey mixture into patties, and cooking for about 6-7 minutes per side until fully cooked.
  3. Make the Special Burger Sauce by whisking together avocado mayo, ketchup, Dijon mustard, pickle juice, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a small bowl.
  4. Assemble the Burger Bowls by layering chopped romaine lettuce, cooked turkey patties, cherry tomatoes, red onion, pickles, bacon, and drizzling the special sauce over everything before topping with cheddar cheese.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Use a meat thermometer for perfect turkey patties.
