A cozy and simple baked dish featuring rolled oats and warm baked apples, perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk (or non-dairy milk)
  • 2 apples, diced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup raisins or dried cranberries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Combine the rolled oats, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Fold in the diced apples and any optional ingredients like nuts or raisins.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and set.
  6. Cool slightly before serving warm, optionally with cream or yogurt.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Can be made ahead of time and baked fresh in the morning.
