A simple and hearty dish combining fried cabbage, potatoes, and crispy bacon, bringing comfort and flavor reminiscent of family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups chopped cabbage
  • 2 cups diced potatoes
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, then remove and set aside.
  2. Remove the bacon and reserve the drippings in the skillet.
  3. Sauté the diced onion in the skillet until translucent.
  4. Cook the diced potatoes for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Combine the chopped cabbage and bacon, cooking until the cabbage is wilted.
  6. Add butter and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve warm on plates.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding garlic or a splash of vinegar. You can substitute the bacon for a vegetarian option with smoked paprika.
