Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • Steamed rice (for serving)
  • Fresh veggies (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Coat the chicken: In a bowl, coat chicken pieces in cornstarch, making sure each piece is fully covered.
  2. Sauté the chicken: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the cornstarch-coated chicken and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Whip up the orange sauce: In another bowl, mix the orange juice, soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
  4. Combine the chicken and sauce: Pour the sauce over the crispy chicken in the skillet. Stir it all together.
  5. Simmer to perfection: Let it simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Plate and enjoy: Serve the Orange Chicken over a bed of steamed rice and alongside your favorite fresh veggies.

Notes

For an extra crispy chicken, double-coat the pieces in cornstarch. Adjust sweetness to your liking.
