A simple and fluffy pancake recipe perfect for breakfast, drizzled with maple syrup.

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Butter for cooking
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Whisk the dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Mix the wet ingredients: In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients: Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  4. Heat the skillet: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a pat of butter.
  5. Pour the batter: Pour 1/4 cup of batter into the skillet for each pancake.
  6. Cook until bubbles form: Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancakes.
  7. Flip and finish cooking: Flip the pancakes and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Serve and enjoy: Serve immediately with butter and a generous drizzle of maple syrup.

Notes

For fluffiest pancakes, use fresh baking powder. Substitute buttermilk with regular milk mixed with vinegar if needed.
