A delightful and vibrant pink velvet cake that’s perfect for celebrations, combining rich flavors with a playful hue.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup buttermilk, at room temperature
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
  6. Stir in the red food coloring and vinegar.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before turning them out onto wire racks to cool completely.
  10. Frost with your favorite cream cheese or buttercream frosting.
