Delicious grilled Portobello mushrooms marinated in garlic and balsamic vinegar, served on toasted buns with fresh toppings.

Ingredients

  • 4 portobello mushroom caps
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, and other toppings as desired

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium heat.
  2. Mix together olive oil, minced garlic, balsamic vinegar, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Brush the marinade generously onto both sides of the mushroom caps.
  4. Place the marinated mushrooms on the hot grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side.
  5. Add your hamburger buns to the grill to toast them during the last couple of minutes.
  6. Assemble by placing the grilled mushrooms onto the toasted buns and topping with your choice of toppings.

Notes

Feel free to customize with your favorite toppings or swap the balsamic vinegar for soy sauce for a different flavor.
