A moist and fluffy red velvet cake adorned with creamy, tangy cream cheese frosting, perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder in a bowl.
  3. Mix together the oil, buttermilk, eggs, red food coloring, vanilla extract, and white vinegar in another large bowl.
  4. Add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gradually, mixing until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. Frost with your favorite cream cheese frosting once cool.
