Delightful morsels of rich red velvet cake mixed with cream cheese frosting, coated in white chocolate and colorful sprinkles, perfect for celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box red velvet cake mix
  • Ingredients needed for cake mix (eggs, oil, water)
  • 1 package cream cheese frosting
  • 12 ounces white chocolate or chocolate candy coating
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the red velvet cake by following the box instructions, combining with eggs, oil, and water, then bake in a preheated oven.
  2. Cool the cake completely to avoid a mushy mess.
  3. Crumble the cooled cake into a large mixing bowl until it resembles fluffy crumbs.
  4. Mix in the cream cheese frosting until well combined and moist.
  5. Form small balls with a tablespoon of the mixture and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Chill the cake balls in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  7. Melt the white chocolate or candy coating in a microwave or double boiler until smooth.
  8. Dip each chilled cake ball into the melted coating, letting excess drip off, then place back on the baking sheet.
  9. Garnish with colorful toppings and let them set until the coating hardens.

Notes

These cake balls can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week and can also be frozen. Use dark or milk chocolate for dipping if preferred.
