A comforting one-pot meal featuring savory Italian sausage, tender broccoli, and creamy orzo that’s perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, enough to coat the bottom generously.
  2. Add the Italian sausage to the skillet, breaking it apart with your spatula as it browns, about 5-7 minutes, until golden and cooked through.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and let cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the orzo and chicken broth to the skillet. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover.
  5. Let it simmer for about 8-10 minutes until the orzo is al dente, adding the broccoli halfway through to steam and soften.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until everything is combined and creamy.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve hot.

Notes
