Delightful Japanese sweets made with soft mochi and creamy white chocolate, perfect for sharing on special occasions.

Ingredients

  • Mochi flour (or glutinous rice flour)
  • Sugar
  • Water
  • Cornstarch (for dusting)
  • White chocolate
  • Butter

Instructions

  1. Mix the mochi flour, sugar, and water to form a smooth batter.
  2. Steam the mixture for about 15-20 minutes until it becomes translucent and sticky.
  3. Dust a clean surface with cornstarch and gently place the steamed mochi on it to cool.
  4. Roll the mochi into thin sheets and cut them into uniform shapes.
  5. Melt the white chocolate with a little butter until smooth.
  6. Spread a thin layer of melted white chocolate on each mochi piece.
  7. Layer and sandwich them together for a delightful treat.
  8. Allow the assembled Shiroi Koibito to set before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or in the fridge for a week.
