  • 1 pound ground beef
  • Salt and pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of cheese (optional)
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Pickles
  • Onions (for topping)
  • Condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the skillet over high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal balls, roughly 4 ounces each.
  3. Smash one beef ball on the hot skillet, flattening it to form a patty.
  4. Season the patty with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook the patty undisturbed for 2-3 minutes to create a crust.
  6. Flip the patty and add cheese if desired, allowing it to melt.
  7. Toast the buns cut-side down in the skillet until golden.
  8. Assemble the burger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and the patty, then add your favorite condiments.

Notes

Cook in batches if needed to maintain high heat, and consider adding spices to the beef for extra flavor.
