Ingredients

  • Brisket (5-10 lbs)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • Garlic powder (optional)
  • Onion powder (optional)
  • Wood chips (for smoking)
  • BBQ sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
  2. Trim the excess fat from the brisket, leaving about 1/4 inch.
  3. Rub salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder on all sides of the brisket.
  4. Place the brisket in the smoker, fat side up.
  5. Smoke the brisket for approximately 1-1.5 hours per pound.
  6. Wrap the brisket in foil and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Slice your smoked brisket against the grain and serve with BBQ sauce if desired.
