Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1/2 cup milk (or a dairy-free alternative)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  3. Whisk together the sourdough discard, milk, and melted butter until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead until it comes together.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1 inch thick and cut out biscuits using a round cutter.
  7. Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they have enough space to rise.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!
