  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sourdough starter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sourdough starter, sugar, and salt.
  2. Combine the wet ingredients: In another bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, and egg. Add this to the dry ingredients.
  3. Knead the dough: Knead until smooth and elastic for about 5-7 minutes. Let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours.

  5. Sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar: Cover the rolled-out dough evenly.
  6. Roll it up: From one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log shape.
  7. Slice into rolls: Cut the rolled dough into slices, about 1-1.5 inches thick.
  8. Second rise: Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake to perfection: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  10. Make the frosting: Beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  11. Drizzle and serve: Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls and serve.
