Fluffy waffles made with sourdough discard, perfect for a cozy weekend brunch.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. Mix together the sourdough discard, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Whisk together the egg, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Pour the batter into your preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. They can also be frozen for up to a month.
