Deliciously soft and buttery knots made with tangy sourdough, garlic, and fresh parsley.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sourdough starter
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Combine sourdough starter, warm water, and sugar in a large bowl. Mix until well blended.
  2. Gradually add flour and salt, stirring until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise overnight in the refrigerator.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Punch down the dough, divide into pieces, and shape each into a knot.
  7. Arrange knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Mix melted butter, garlic, and parsley; brush generously over knots.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For a cheesy twist, add grated Parmesan or mozzarella inside the knots.
