Ingredients
Scale
1 cup warm milk
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup strawberries, chopped
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup frosting (optional)
Instructions
Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar; let it stand for 5 minutes until bubbly.
Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, vanilla extract, and eggs. Add the yeast mixture and stir until well combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients: Gradually add flour and salt to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Knead the Dough: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
Let the Dough Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes, or until doubled in size.
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C), filling the kitchen with anticipation.
Roll Out the Dough: Once risen, turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll it into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
Fill and Roll: Spread the chopped strawberries, brown sugar, and cinnamon over the dough. Roll it up tightly from the long edge, pinch the seams to seal.
Cut into Rolls: Slice the rolled dough into 12 even pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
Second Rise: Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes while the oven is preheating.
Bake to Perfection: Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, until they are golden brown on top and your kitchen smells heavenly.
Finish with Frosting: If desired, drizzle with frosting before serving warm.
Notes
Serve warm, possibly with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
