A tender and flavorful Texas beef brisket, slow-cooked to perfection for a delicious family meal.

Ingredients

  • 45 pounds beef brisket
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the brisket by rubbing it generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Sear the seasoned brisket on all sides in a hot skillet until browned.
  3. Transfer the seared brisket to the slow cooker.
  4. Pour the beef broth and barbecue sauce over the brisket and add Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Cover and let it cook on low for 8 hours.
  6. Remove the brisket and allow it to rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
  7. Slice against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

Serve with coleslaw, cornbread, or in tortillas for brisket tacos. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
