Soft, chewy bars loaded with colorful Valentine’s M&M’s and chocolate chips, perfect for sharing on Valentine’s Day.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Valentine’s M&M’s
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream Together the Sweetness: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the Eggs and Vanilla: Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk the Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in Festive Treats: Gently fold in the Valentine’s M&M’s and chocolate chips.
  7. Spread and Bake: Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
