Deliciously sweet and festive cookies, perfect for celebrating Valentine’s Day with loved ones.

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • Sprinkles or colored sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the butter mixture.
  6. If you’re feeling indulgent, stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them a couple of inches apart.
  8. Sprinkle with colored sugar or sprinkles.
  9. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze the dough for up to three months.
