A creamy and tangy pasta dish with rich tomatoes and a hint of vodka that elevates its flavor.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 can (15 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup vodka
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish
  • Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant.
  4. Incorporate the crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Allow to cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Add the vodka and let cook for another 3 minutes.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Combine the cooked penne pasta until well coated with the sauce.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil and serve with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

Serve with a garden salad or garlic bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
